ingence see#

This page is generated from the code and must not be edited by hand.

Open the Dashboard in your web browser.

The Dashboard is a web page that Ingence serves from this computer. Its address starts with http://127.0.0.1: and ends with a port number, and it works only on this computer. The command prints the address and opens it in your default browser. The page needs no internet connection.

Which project it opens: the one named with –project. Without that option, the project in the current folder, or in the nearest folder above it. If there is none, the page lets you open a project you made before, or make a new one. A project that has not been read yet shows what it will read, and reads it when you click “Read it now”.

To stop it, press Ctrl-C in this terminal. Closing the browser tab does not stop it. If you have changes that are saved but not committed, it asks whether to commit them before it exits.

It never writes to the folders it reads. It writes the project folder, where your answers go to the Record, and, in your settings folder, the list of recent projects and who is deciding. A project made from the landing page writes its own new folder. Answers and changed settings wait for the Re-run button, and nothing runs until you press it.

It works with the source data unmounted, because everything it shows comes from the project. What it cannot do without the files is open them again or verify a hash, and it says so.

For example, “ingence see –project ~/ingence-projects/hela-screen –port 8765” opens that project on port 8765, and “ingence see –no-open” prints the address without opening it.
