ingence index#

This page is generated from the code and must not be edited by hand.

Build the Index over every declared root.

A metadata census that never opens a file. It is read-only over the data pool, it records errors rather than stopping at them, and it can be interrupted at any moment: a canceled run publishes nothing and leaves the previous one current.

--rebind replays the current run’s items instead of walking: an answer changes what a name means and nothing on disk, so the loop from an answer to its effect needs no walk, and works with the pool unmounted.

Options

Option

Type

Default

What it does

--project, -p

path

none

Project directory. Defaults to discovery.

--quiet, -q

switch

off

Suppress progress.

--rebind

switch

off

Read every stored name again under the current vocabulary and Record, touching no root. The tree is the last census’s; walk again to see what is there now.

--spelling

text, may be repeated

none

With –rebind: read again only the names that could hold this answered spelling (and every folder), carrying every other name’s reading. May be repeated.

--dry-run

switch

off

Walk each root’s metadata as a census would and report what is there – rates, kinds, sizes, years, extensions, and what every link’s text says – writing nothing and opening no file. The pre-flight in the engine.

--limit

whole number

0

With –dry-run: stop after this many items (0: all).

--seconds

number

0.0

With –dry-run: stop after this long (0: no limit).

--report

path

none

With –dry-run: also write the report here, as JSON.

--fetch

switch

off

First fetch each listing root’s listing from its archive into the project, one polite request at a time, every request logged. Without it a listing root is read from what was fetched before.

--wait

switch

off

Where a Dashboard job or another command is publishing runs in this project, wait for it to finish rather than stopping.

--verbose

switch

off

Also print the detail: each rule’s counts, reuse reasons, timings.
