Finding#
This page is generated from the code and must not be edited by hand.
What a flagging rule raised about one subject, for a person’s attention.
A record of its own, and never a claim. A flagging rule concludes nothing, and a claim is a conclusion. So a finding holds no object the subject is said to be, no tier, no status and no defeaters. It names what drew attention and the records that did, and what that means is a person’s to say.
Not an observation either. An observation is what an extractor read off the bytes, with a locator and a source scope, and a run carries it forward. A finding is what a rule in the Rulebook raised from records the Index already holds, attributed to that rule’s version and scope, and every inference computes it again, so a rule switched off raises nothing on the next run.
No salience field. Ranking findings is a record and a job of its own, and a finding’s identifier is what such a record would cite.
